LAS CRUCES – With the Month of Giving just around the corner, NM State Athletics has announced its initiative to team up with the Aggie Cupboard once again to collect items for the New Mexico State University community, including student-athletes.
Throughout November, NM State Athletics will collect food items at all home men's basketball, women's basketball and volleyball games to benefit the Aggie Cupboard. The first opportunity to participate in the food drive will be Wednesday, Nov. 2, when the Aggie men's basketball team hosts Western New Mexico in an exhibition game at the Pan American Center. Doors to the event will open at 6 p.m. MT while the game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
Aggie Athletics has teamed up with Aggie Cupboard in the past – and aside from filling shelves and stomachs – is looking to bring awareness to the work being done by our campus partner.
The Aggie Cupboard provides non-perishable food to NMSU students, staff, and faculty with the goal of making access to the pantry as easy and respectful as possible – requiring only a current NMSU ID to receive assistance.
While all non-perishable items are appreciated, we would like to present a "most-wanted" list of beneficial and needed foods. This list includes:
