THE FIRST SERVE
• Hoping to put an end to a four-match losing skid, the NM State men's tennis team heads to the Lone Star State for a pair of non-conference matchups in Lubbock. The Aggies' two-match weekend starts with a Friday afternoon showdown at Texas Tech. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday afternoon, NM State crosses paths with Louisiana for the first time since 2017 as the two teams are set to square off at noon from the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock.
• In their most recent matchups, the Aggies dropped two matches at 16th-ranked Arizona last Sunday. NM State fell 7-0 and 4-0 to the nationally-ranked Wildcats in Tucson, Ariz.
• Other than Jordy Visser, who is 2-2 while playing on lines four, five and six, no other Aggie has multiple singles wins so far in the team's dual match season. As a whole, NM State is 6-16 (.273) in one-on-one matchups during its 2022 campaign.
• Visser and Louis Menard have given NM State a solid option in top-flight doubles play through their six dual matches in 2022. That tandem boasts a mark of 3-2 and they have produced all but two of the team's doubles victories.

SCOUTING TEXAS TECH | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• Hoping to keep their home record unblemished, the Red Raiders are hoping to replicate their early-season success. After winning their first three dual matches of the season, they have gone just 1-3 in their last four matchups.
• Dimitrios Azoidis has enjoyed an exceptionally strong start to the 2022 campaign in singles action. Competing across lines four, five and six, Azoidis is the owner of a perfect 5-0 mark in one-on-one tilts.
• Top-flight singles competitor Isaac Arevalo isn't far behind Azoidis in terms of total wins. Arevalo is 4-2 in one-on-one play with all of his matches coming on line one.
• Four of the Red Raiders' seven total doubles wins have featured Ilgiz Valiev. His 4-2 mark in doubles play is the best on the team.
• Texas Tech has won its last five dual matches against NM State over the last decade. The most high-profile of those matches came on Saturday, May 14, 2016, when the eighth-ranked Red Raiders secured a 4-0 win over the Aggies in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING LOUISIANA | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• Outside of a 6-1 setback at the hands of UTSA in mid-Janaury, the Ragin' Cajuns haven't done much losing through 2022. Louisiana has won four straight and six of its first seven dual matches to begin its latest campaign.
• The number-two doubles flight has been a strength of Louisiana as Vasil Dimitrov and Oriol Fillat Gimenez have joined forces to become the team's best tandem in dual match action. They have gone 5-1 in 2022, giving them nearly half of the team's 11 doubles triumphs.
• When apart, Dimitrov and Fillat Gimenez have been just as successful. Both have four singles wins to their credit this season with the latter having posted a 4-1 mark in third-flight one-on-one matches. Dimitrov has played across lines four, five and six and is the owner of a 4-2 mark.
• Just one of the Ragin' Cajuns' seven singles players who have engaged in dual match action this season has a record below the .500 mark. Louisiana boasts a 21-10 mark in dual match singles play with Kacper Dworak (4-1), Karlo Kajin (3-1) and Calin Postea (3-1) all possessing near-perfect records.
• The Ragin' Cajuns are tangling with the Aggies for the first time since March 4, 2017. That day, NM State posted a 4-1 victory over Louisiana in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the H-E-B Tournament of Champions.

COMING UP NEXT
• NM State continues its two-week stretch of matches in the Lone Star State by heading to Corpus Christi, Texas, to take part in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Aggies will play multiple matches in Corpus Christi from Friday, Feb. 18 through Sunday, Feb. 20.
