THE FIRST SERVE
• South Texas is where the NM State men's tennis team will try to put an end to a six-match losing skid as the Aggies are one of eight teams taking part in the H-E-B Tournament of Champions hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
• The two-day event at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center features appearances by Abilene Christian, DePaul, East Tennessee State, Louisiana, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Troy and UTSA in addition to NM State.
Gijs Akkermans and Corey Clarke are the doubles team which reentered the win column for NM State most recently. That pairing moved to 3-3 in 2022 following a 6-3 flight three win over Louisiana's Kacper Dworak and Calin Postea last Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
• In top-flight doubles play, Louis Menard and Jordy Visser own a 3-3 mark and will be hoping to snap a two-match losing streak when they hit the courts at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.

SCOUTING UTSA | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• The Roadrunners' schedule has tapered off slightly after they opened the 2022 campaign with a 6-1 setback at third-ranked Texas back on Friday, Jan. 14. Since that loss, UTSA has won three of its last four matches as it prepares to challenge NM State in Corpus Christi, Texas.
• In top-line singles action, Joao Ceolin is the owner of a 3-1 record while Sebastian Rodriguez possesses a mark of 4-1 while playing on lines two and three. Only one of the Roadrunners' players is below the .500 mark in one-on-one play through their first five dual matches of the year.
• Half of UTSA's six doubles wins have come directly as a result of Javier Gonzalez's play in flights one and three. Gonazlez has gone 2-0 while competing alongside Garrett Skelly on line three and is 1-1 when paired with Ceolin in top-flight play.

COMING UP NEXT
• NM State travels to Flagstaff, Ariz., for two more non-conference matches over the course of two days. The Aggies are scheduled to take on Northern Arizona Friday (Feb. 25) afternoon at 4:00 p.m. before matching up with Mesa Community College Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Flagstaff.
