THE FIRST SERVE
• California is the destination for the NM State men's tennis team as it hopes to build on a two-match winning streak. The Aggies are one of eight teams taking to The Golden State for the 2022 Golden State Invitational.
• The two-day tournament features Hawaii, Nevada, Pacific, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, San Francisco and UC Davis in addition to NM State. In all, 12 total matches will be played through Friday and Saturday. Those matches
will be split between the campus of UC Davis and the campus of Sacramento State.
• NM State begins its run in the Golden State Invitational with a Friday morning matchup against San Francisco. Following that 11:00 a.m. MT showdown, the Aggies will take on either UC Davis or Saint Mary's at 3:00 p.m. MT that same day.
• Freshman Itay Feigin has come on strong as of late, winning each of his last two singles matches to move into the team lead for singles wins. His five singles triumphs are one more than Jordy Visser's four (4-6) to top the Aggies' charts.
• Feigin, Corey Clarke (3-6) and Gijs Akkermans (3-8) have all won each of their last two one-on-one matchups.
• In doubles action, Akkermans and Clarke have fluctuated between flights one and two through the year to post a 6-5 mark. That tandem is 3-0 in top-flight doubles action.
• Like Akkermans and Clarke, Louis Menard and Visser own a 6-5 doubles mark. While playing on line two, that pair is 2-0.

SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO | ROSTER | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS
• NM State's first-round opponent hasn't played a dual match since Sunday, Feb. 27. That days, the Dons out-dueled visiting Army by a score of 4-1 to push their record to 5-4.
• Three of the Dons' decisions have been by scores of 4-3. San Francisco is 1-2 in those matches.
• Returning to San Francisco's lineup for his junior season is 2021 All-WCC Second Team Singles performer Nitzan Ricklis.
• San Francisco's Friday morning matchup with NM State represents the Dons' second dual match tilt against a team from outside the state of California in 2022.

COMING UP NEXT
• Western Athletic Conference play begins for NM State in Las Cruces, N.M., next weekend as the Aggies are set to host a number of league teams for the opening weekend of conference action. NM State's first WAC match of 2022 is set for Friday, March 18 when it takes on UTRGV at the NM State Tennis Complex.
