Las Cruces, N.M. - School is back swing, and so is NM State women's soccer. The Aggies are on the road again this weekend, this time to face Cal. State Fullerton for the second game of this early season. The Titans and Aggies will square off on Sunday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. MT. This is the second of three road games NM State has to start their season. Next week the team will head out east to College Station to take on Texas A&M before coming back home to play UTEP in the battle of I-10 on Sep. 3.

- The Aggies played a hard game up in Eugene last Thursday. They gave the Ducks all they can handle with their physical defense and constant offensive attack.
- Aggie defenders were able to contain the Ducks' offense to just one score on 15 shots (six on goal) until the goal in the final minute.Â
- Makenna Gottschalk recorded her 150th career save after she tallied six in match. She currently sits third in program history in saves, only behind Dimitri Fong (265) and Ashley Martin (242).
- Sydnee Johnson was giving Oregon defenders fits on Thursday by showcasing her blazing speed on the offensive side of the ball. She put up five of the 15 shots taken by the Aggies and had one shot on goal.

- The Titans come into the match 0-1 after dropping their season opener to last year's NCAA runner-up and third-ranked BYU in a 1-0 contest.
- Fullerton was picked to finish fourth in the Big West Conference reviving just one first place vote and one All-Conference selection.
- Senior midfielder, Kaya Hawkinson was the Titans' lone selection to the All-Conference team. Playing in her fifth collegiate season, Hawkinson has quite an impressive resume. She's played 60 career games with three goals, 43 shots, 18 shots on goal, .419 SOG% and nine assists.
- Titan goalkeeper, Allison Poole had her work cut out for her against the nationally ranked Cougars. She managed to save seven shots from entering the net, only allowing one score after nine of the cougars ten shots were on goal. DeAira Jackson was the other goalie to record a save.
Next Up
After playing Cal. Fullerton, NM State will have one more road match against Texas A&M next Saturday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. MT. After that, the Aggies begin a five game home stand starting with UTEP coming to town for the infamous Battle of I-10.
