U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - After being off for nearly five months, the Aggies took to the courts for their second tournament in as many weeks.
 
NM State took part in a busy day one of the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains on the campus of The U.S. Air Force Academy where they battled in a combined 16 singles and doubles matches against athletes from the likes of Denver, Boise State, Montana State, Air Force, Weber State, Brigham Young and Utah.
 
To open the day, the team of Roko Stipetic and Corey Clarke combined to defeat Max Relic and Jacob Huppin, 7-5, to advance to the round of 16 in doubles action. Meanwhile, Vassanth Mathan joined his teammates in the round of 16 with a win in doubles action, however, he played alongside an unfamiliar face as he teamed up with Air Force's Luke Wolf to take down Denver's Peter Sallay and Charlie Miller, 6-3.
 
In singles action, the Aggies were led by Italy Feigin, Roko Stipetic and Corey Clarke who each recorded wins in their first singles matches of the weekend. After falling 6-1 in the opening set, Feigin proceeded to chop down the number one seed in his draw – defeating two-time All-Summit League Team member Nicolas Herrera Cuesta of Denver, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
 
In the Raptor Draw, Corey Clarke redeemed a round-one loss as he picked up a win over Montana State's Bradley Buckland, 6-2, 6-4. Then, for the second time of the day, Stipetic found himself on the better end of a match involving himself and Montana State's Jacob Huppin. He defeated Huppin in singles action, 6-4, 6-4, to move on to the round of 16.

NM State continues its stay in Colorado as they get set to compete on day two of the Bedford Cup in the Mountains. Saturday's matches will get underway at 9 a.m.
