Aggies Lined Up to Take on No. 19 Arizona Ahead of WAC Play

NM State competes for first time in nearly one month.

THE FIRST SERVE
• The Aggies will finally return to the courts after nearly a month with no competition as they travel to Tucson, Ariz., to battle with 19th-ranked Arizona.
• NM State was originally scheduled to take part in the Golden State Invitational co-hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis, however, due the weekend of play was canceled due to weather meaning the Aggies last competed against New Mexico on Feb. 26.
• Saturday's match will also mark the Aggies' final opportunity to tune up before hitting WAC play on Friday, March 31, when they host Seattle U.
• The Wildcats will bring forth one of the best teams the Aggies will see all season long as the ranked squad has four singles players ranked inside the top 150 (No. 45 singles player Jonas Eriksson Ziverts, No. 80 singles player Colton Smith, No. 91 singles player Nick Lagaev and No. 118 singles player Herman Hoeyeraal). The Arizona team also includes the No. 67 doubles team of Eriksson Ziverts and Hoeyeraal and the No. 73 doubles team of Eriksson Ziverts and Jay Friend.
• Senior Jordy Visser will lead the Aggies in singles action against the Pac-12 power as he ranks first on the Aggies with four singles wins – three of which have come at the No. 1 spot.
• Meanwhile, Luca Fé D'Ostiani and Itay Feigin have put together three singles wins each this season to rank second among the Crimson & White.
• In their first year playing together, Visser and Yehor Opanasenko have also made quite the impression in doubles action as they are responsible for four of the Aggies' six doubles victories this season.

COMING UP NEXT
Following the two matches versus No. 19 Arizona, NM State will return to the courts at the NM State Tennis Center to host matches against Seattle U and Grand Canyon to begin conference play. The Aggies will face off with the Redhawks on Friday, March 31, before colliding with the Lopes on Sunday, April 2.
