LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After hiring Ricky Martinez and David Bellamy last week, NM State head coach Jake Angier has added Dillon Leveille as his third and final assistant coach. Leveille comes to Las Cruces after spending four seasons as an assistant coach at East Texas Baptist. Leveille will oversee the outfielders at NM State and assist in player development.

COACHING EXPERIENCE
Leveille has coached at NCAA Division III East Texas Baptist for the past four seasons under Jared Hood. The 2023 edition of the Tigers finished third in the nation at the NCAA Division III Baseball World Series and finished inside the top ten of various national polls. The tremendous run broke several school records and was the second-best finish in American Southwest Conference history. ETBU shattered the school record with 44 total wins on the season, including 24 in ASC play.
The 2023 Tigers were also honored with the ABCA Region 10 Coaching Staff of the Year for the second time in three seasons. Additionally, Leveille and company were recognized as the ASC Coaching Staff of the Year for the third year in a row.

Dealing heavily with the outfielders, Leveille helped develop Ben Lead into one of the best players at the Division III level. Lea was named as an ABCA First Team All-American, D3Baseball.com First Team All-American, NCAA All-Tournament Team and First Team All-Region by both D3Baseball.com and ABCA. Lea became the first ETBU outfielder since 2016 to be named an All-American as he broke three single-season records (home runs, total bases, runs scored). He also set a new ETBU record when he hit safely in 26 consecutive games. Lea was joined on the All-Region teams by Brett Wagner, who was a Second Team ABCA selection and Third Team nod by D3Baseball.com.

Leveille began his collegiate coaching career at NCAA Division II Cameron University in his home state of Oklahoma. During the 2015 season, Leveille served as a student assistant before returning as a graduate assistant for the 2017 campaign.

The Geronimo, Okla., native graduated from Cameron University in 2015 with his bachelor's degree before completing his master's degree at East Texas Baptist in 2021.

PLAYING EXPERIENCE
Leveille pitched at Cameron University for two seasons, posting a 3.86 ERA in 2014. A standout in the classroom as well as on the diamond, Leveille was twice named to the Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Before transferring to Cameron University, Leveille played at Labette Junior College in Kansas. While at Labette, Leveille was awarded the NJCAA Superior Academic Achievement Award for his work in the classroom.
