| By:

Pair of Aggies are two of just 11 players recognized league wide.

DALLAS – Both Jonatan Clough and Mitch Namie have been named to the 2025 Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Friday morning. The honor recognizes individuals who are maintaining a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better while also contributing on the field as a starter or key reserve.

Clough, a junior from La Romana Del Oeste, Dominican Republic, played in 15 games and made 14 starts prior to a season-ending injury and is one of six Aggies to earn CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal honors this year.

The first-year Aggie started 13 of the Aggies' first 14 games at center field. During his time in the lineup this season, Clough recorded 13 hits, five extra-base hits, including a team-best two triples to go along with one home run. While studying sociology, Clough is one of just two award recipients maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA, joined by MTSU's Tyler Minnick.

Namie, a junior from Mesa, Ariz., is one of three individuals on this year's list to have garnered their second consecutive All-Academic Team selection. He is also now a two-time CUSA Commissioner's Academic Medal honoree and a two-time Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. Namie boasts an impressive 3.91 GPA while studying accounting.

On the field, Namie has appeared in and started 51 of the Aggies 52 games this season, with all 51 starts coming in left field. Entering the year as one of the Aggies' top returners, he has continued to produce at a high level and currently paces the Aggies in total hits, RBIs and doubles. Namie opened the year with a 15-game hit streak and has produced 18 multi-hit games and is tied for the team lead in multi-RBI games with 12.

NM State will be one of eight teams to compete in the 2025 CUSA Baseball Championship that is set to begin on Wednesday, May 21 in Lynchburg, Va.
