COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – NM State wrapped up its weekend at the Bedford Cup today with some notable performances, highlighted by sophomore Matias Rojas and junior Tobias Wallin, who shared the singles crown in the Raptor Draw after advancing to the finals.
The Aggies added multiple singles victories across draws, including Holland Snell, who secured the 3-4 playoff in the Lightning Draw with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Indiana's Amadike Chetanna. In the Raptor bracket, Roko Stipetic earned a hard-fought 7-6, 6-4, [10-7] victory over Idaho's Sander Paradis, while Patrick Lohmann picked up a 6-1, 6-4, [10-8] win against Idaho's Valentin Glasl in Falcon Draw action.
Doubles play also saw the Aggies close out on a positive note, with Snell and Lance Urlaub collecting a 6-2 win over Air Force's Brown and Leaird. Meanwhile, Rojas and Wallin capped off a standout weekend by teaming up for a 6-1 victory against Idaho's Lis and Paradis.
NM State will now turn its attention to the final event of its fall slate as the Aggies travel to Las Vegas, Nev., for the ITA Mountain Regionals, set for Oct. 16-21.
