NM State Athletics Announces Executive Leadership Additions, Staff Updates and New Sport Administration Assignments

Fields introduces three additions to athletics administration and announces departmental reorganization.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State Athletics is excited to announce several key staff additions, executive leadership updates and a new sport administration structure designed to strengthen operations, enhance the student-athlete experience and position the department for continued success.
 
"These additions and role alignments reflect our commitment to building a comprehensive, student-athlete-centered athletics department," said Athletics Director Joe Fields. "We are assembling an experienced, innovative leadership team that will positively impact every area of our department."
 
Molly Tye, who joins NM State from Texas A&M University, has been named Deputy Athletics Director for Internal Operations and Senior Woman Administrator. In her role, Tye will oversee Human Resources, Compliance, Equipment and Apparel, Title IX, Roster Management, Conduct, and the department's Sport Administration program.
 
"I have the great fortune of having worked with Molly at Texas A&M, where she made an incredible impact on the football program and academic services," Fields stated. "She will make an equally incredible impact here at NMSU. Her leadership, experience, and integrity are exactly what this department needs."
 
Eric Crawford, who comes to NM State from Georgia Southwestern State University, has been named Chief Financial Officer, overseeing Business Operations, Facilities and Revenue Sharing Operations.
 
"Eric is a rising star in the profession," said Fields. "His experience as a former college coach and student-athlete provides him with a unique perspective that will be invaluable to our staff and coaches as we continue to evolve our operational and financial strategies."
 
Josh Hadley, most recently at the University of Utah, has been named Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services. He will oversee Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Academic Services and Sport Psychology.
 
"Josh is an impressive professional who has carved out an impactful career supporting student-athletes at multiple Power Five institutions," said the Athletics Director. "His knowledge and experience as a former football student-athlete and administrator will be invaluable for our student-athletes and our athletics department."
 
Executive Team Leadership
 
In addition to welcoming Tye, Crawford and Hadley, Director of Athletics Joe Fields announced adjustments to NM State's executive leadership team. Effective immediately, Chet Savage will serve as the Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Revenue Officer and will oversee all revenue-generation efforts.
 
Nicole Sack has been elevated to Associate Athletics Director for External Engagement and will oversee Game Operations, Marketing, Sports Information, Fan Experience and Creative Services.
 
Lastly, Joseph Almaguer has been promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Administration, assisting the Athletics Director and providing administrative leadership and support across all areas of the department.
 
Sport Administration Assignments
 
As part of the department's strategic alignment, NM State Athletics has implemented the following sport administration assignments:
 
  • Molly Tye: Football, Women's Basketball
  • Josh Hadley: Men's Basketball, Women's Tennis
  • Eric Crawford: Baseball, Soccer, Men's Tennis
  • Dominic Moreno: Softball
  • Chase Kearney: Track & Field, Cross Country
  • Michael Navarrette: Swimming & Diving
  • Joseph Alamaguer: Volleyball, Men's Golf
  • Paulina Mihelich: Women's Golf
  • Nicole Sack: Cheer
 
"These assignments ensure our programs receive focused leadership and support while maintaining accountability and alignment with our departmental goals," said Fields.
 
With this leadership structure in place, NM State Athletics is well-positioned to advance competitive excellence, elevate the student-athlete experience and continue building a strong future for Aggie Athletics.
