RIO GRANDE REMATCHRound two of the Rio Grande Rivalry is slated to begin at 2 p.m. on Sun., Dec. 20, at Wisepies Arena. The Aggies look to make it three-in-a-row against the Lobos and twice in the same season.

Â
Since the first match-up on Nov. 17, New Mexico has gone 5-2 in non-conference play. The Lobos went on a three-game winning-streak after their loss to NM State, defeating Sacramento State, Nicholls State and Southern Utah. They then lost back-to-back games to Duquesne at home and UTEP on the road. Following the losses, UNM bounced back with a pair of wins against SMU on the road and Pepperdine at home.
Â
The Lobos are scheduled to play Minnesota at home on Dec. 16 before squaring off with the Aggies on Sunday in the second Battle of I-25.

TRAKH-ING THE WINSLast night's victory over Eastern New Mexico gave head coach

The 6-4 forward recorded a career-high 15 points in 13 minutes of action for the Aggies. Her 13 points on Monday against Eastern New Mexico eclipsed what she had scored in her first seven games combined (10). Another great sign for NM State was that Taylor made 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

Â
The Aggies followed up that home loss to UTEP with a win against Eastern New Mexico on Monday night, setting them up for another clash with history.
Â
NOVEMBER TO REMEMBERNM State had one of its best starts in program history thanks to a 6-0 record in the month of November. It is the most wins for the Aggies in the opening month of the season. The best record in the month of November for NM State was back in 2010 when the Aggies went 5-0. This is only the seventh time in 43 seasons that the Aggies have been undefeated in November.
Â
GAME SET FREEMANReigning Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year,
Brianna Freeman, reminded opponents why she was the unanimous vote for the WAC Preseason MVP. The junior recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the Hotel Encanto Thanksgiving Classic hosted by the Aggies.
Â
For her efforts, she was named WAC Player of the Week on Nov. 30. It is the first honor for Freeman this season and third of her career.
Â
In the opening game against Northwestern State, Freeman put up a career-high 27 points on 12-of-18 (.667) shooting to go with 11 boards. She also racked up a pair of blocks and assists to help the Aggies defeat the Lady Demons, 65-54.
Â
The very next day, the 6-1 forward notched her second-straight double-double and third one of the year against Northern Arizona. The 12 points and 10 rebounds also gave the Killeen, Texas, product her 12th-career double-double.
Â
HOW SWEEP IT ISNM State swept the WAC Player of the Week (Nov. 30) honor for both men's and women's basketball for the first time ever in school history. NM State won that game, 81-64, thanks to 28-of-56 shooting from the floor and a 15-for-30 night behind the arc. Like Saturday's game versus NAU, the Aggies had a player scorch their opponents for seven 3-pointers. Like
Sasha Weber's 7-of-10 performance against Northern Arizona, then-freshman
Zaire Williams was 7-for-9 that night against the Thunderbirds.

Â
The Aggies saw their 17-game win-streak at the Pan Am Center snapped last week against I-10 rival UTEP, 71-65. The 17-game win-streak at home is the third-longest streak ever in program history since the 1992-94 squads won 18-straight.

Â

Zaire Williams came off the bench and nearly had a double-double against Sacramento State. The Dana Point, Calif., product dished out eight dimes to go with her eight points, six steals and six rebounds to help the Aggies down the stretch against the Hornets. The eight assists by Williams was also a new career-high. Head coach

Â
WEBER MOVING ON UPSasha Weber, a 6-0 senior guard, continues to leave her mark in the record books as she moved into 14th all-time in scoring for the Aggies. With her seven points on Monday against Eastern New Mexico, the Lacey, Wash., product now has 1,249 points in her career. She's now five points shy of passing Tabytha Wampler (1,254, 2008-12), a Cottonwood, Calif., native that played at West Valley High School for 13th place.
Â
Weber recently passed Anna Boldt (1,241, 1979-1984) on Dec. 5 when she recorded 10 points against I-10 rival UTEP.
