TUCSON, Ariz. – The NM State women's tennis team shined in the Arizona sun Friday afternoon as the Aggies swept Pima Community College 7-0 at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
 
New Mexico State dominated the Aztecs in doubles play, giving up just two games combined as the Aggies made quick work of Pima CC.
 
Playing in her first dual match of the season, freshman Eli Arnaudova handled her opponent and gave up just one game (6-0, 6-1) to give the Aggies a 2-0 lead at singles No. 6.
 
The Aggies went up 3-0 thanks to Erika Castillo Lopez downing Samantha Ruth in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. Chloe Jolliff clinched the match for NM State shortly after when she ousted Stefanie Nickles 6-0, 6-1 on court No. 3.
 
Mia Brandt won her third-straight singles match of the year on court No. 4 when she blanked Ema Hernandez 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Lindsay Harlas picked up her second win in dual play with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at singles No. 5.
 
Ashvarya Shrivastav completed the sweep when she defeated Kelsey Brown, who is ranked No. 19 in the junior college rankings according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, 6-1, 6-1.
 
NM State returns to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. (MT) to play host No. 58 Arizona at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.
