LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team looks to continue its hot play in the fall as it heads to Las Vegas, Nev., for the ITA Mountain Regional Championships hosted by UNLV at the Darling Tennis Center.

The 17-team tournament will pit 80 players against one another in a 64-player bracket for singles and 32-team bracket for doubles. Action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (MT) every day and with consolation play as well to ensure each player at least two matches.

Competing for NM State will be
Stijn de Haan,
Mauri Benitez,
Enrique Asmar and
Louis Menard.
Luis Flores and
Martin Simecek will be qualifying on Monday to earn themselves a spot in the main draw. The two will need to win two matches for a spot in the main singles draw.

As of Sunday night, de Haan is set to take on Nevada's Kostya Nesterenko while Asmar faces off against Utah's David Micevski – who is the No. 3 seed in the tournament. Menard is slated to battle Northern Arizona's Lucas Taylor, who is the No. 11 seed in the tournament. Benitez awaits his opponent, who will be the No. 6 qualifier from Monday's matches.

For doubles, de Haan and Benitez awaits who they play at the No. 2 qualifying spot. Menard and Asmar is in the same boat as de Haan and Benitez as they wait and see who the NO. 3 qualifying tandem will be.
