LAST TIME OUT
NM State wrapped up a three-game weekend series against WAC challenger Chicago State this weekend at Presley Askew Field. Early offensive power from the Aggie bats led to a 15-2 run-ruling of Chicago State in seven innings Friday night in the series opener for the Aggie baseball team.
Despite high winds dispersed throughout most of the game, NM State ace
Kyle Bradish tossed six innings of work and gave up just two runs, one earned, on six hits with three walks and five punch outs – moving the junior to 5-1 on the year.
Game two of the series on Saturday saw three late home runs led the Aggies to a 12-7 victory over the Cougars and a series win with the 2-0 lead.
Brock Whittlesey came back out in the ninth inning and shut down the CSU batters to secure the 12-7 win for NM State and earn his fifth save of the season.
Chance Hroch (4-1) earned the win after a strong inning in relief.
After posting three multi-run innings, the Aggies cruised to a 12-4 victory in game three and completed the series sweep of the Cougars. This marked the second straight sweep of a conference opponent for the Crimson & White.
Alex Pinedo (4-1) earned the win after 5.0 innings of work and the Aggie bats combined for 13 base knocks, including five extra-base hits.
