SCOUTING THE BEARS
Northern Colorado enters the weekend clash holding a 20-17 overall record with a 4-9 mark in Western Athletic Conference play. The Bears have yet to win a conference series this season, dropping two-of-three to each of their opponents – Utah Valley, Grand Canyon, Seattle U and Sacramento State.
This season, Northern Colorado has batted .291 as a team with a .421 slugging percentage and have scored 7.3 runs per game. Four everyday starters for UNC have a batting average above .300, led by Dean Lawson who is batting .325 with a team-high nine stolen bases.
On the mound, the Bears have compiled a 6.02 team ERA and have held opponents to a .288 batting average. Northern Colorado's staff has allowed 95 extra-base hits, including 21 homers. So far this year, the Bears have averaged 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.

ROAD WARRIORS
As the Aggies travel for their second conference series on the road, the team currently carries a 10-game win streak against WAC teams in away games dating back to the 2017 season. The last loss for NM State on the road came against Sacramento State on April 14, 2017. The Aggies first series of the 2018 season saw them sweep CSU Bakersfield by a combined score of 23-8.
LAST TIME OUT
The most recent game for NM State saw the team extends its win streak to eight in a row, taking down Sul Ross State at home on April 17. A strong day at the plate saw the Aggies record 21 hits that led the team to a 14-8 victory over the Lobos.
Pitcher
Wyatt Kelly earned the win, the first of his Aggie career. NM State racked up 21 hits on the day, featuring five Aggies with multiple base knocks. The Aggies also recorded eight doubles, which is the highest total since hitting seven against Saint Joseph's on March 5, 2010.
