TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team wrapped up its time in Tucson at the Wildcat Invitational on Sunday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center, capturing one singles title.

The start of doubles action saw the NM State pair of
Louis Menard and
Enrique Asmar fall to Grand Canyon's team of  Valentin Lang and Jakub Novak, 6-3.

Asmar bounced back in singles action and fended off a rally from Boise State's Maximilien Blancaneaux to capture the French Open singles draw title 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.

In the Australian Open singles draw, Menard wasn't able to best New Mexico's Stepan Holis and fell 6-4, 6-1 in the consolation finals.

Extra singles matches were also played on Sunday, three of which included Aggie players.
Nicolas Buitrago won his match 6-2, 6-2 over Arizona's Conner Olsen while
Luis Flores bested Jared Horwood 6-1, 6-2.
Martin Simecek squared off against Nicholas Prieto of UNM, but wasn't able to come out victorious and fell 6-1, 6-0.

The Aggie men now have about three weeks to recover and train before heading to Las Vegas, Nev., for the ITA Mountain Regional Championship (Oct. 16-19) hosted by UNLV.
