LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team opens the 2019 dual season at home with a pair of matches against familiar opponents this weekend.

The first match of the dual season gets underway at 2 p.m. (MT) against Mesa Community College on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies will wrap up their weekend home stand with a match at noon on Sunday, Jan. 27, against Western New Mexico.

Louis Menard is hoping to pick up where he left off after posting a 9-4 singles record in the fall. Teammate
Stijn de Haan also had a strong singles season going 8-3. In doubles action, the team of
Enrique Asmar and Menard were 8-2 during the fall together while
Mauri Benitez and de Haan were 6-2.

Before coming to Las Cruces, Mesa CC will play WNMU on Friday, Jan. 25, in Silver City, N.M before taking on NM State on Saturday for its second match in as many days. NM State has swept Mesa CC the past two seasons heading into this year's meeting.

New Mexico State looks to continue its dominance against Western New Mexico on Sunday after sweeping the Mustangs in each of the last three seasons.

New Mexico State will then begin another long road swing where it'll have 61 days between home matches, beginning next week in Las Vegas, Nev.
