LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team looks to build on its 4-1 start this Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. (MT) when it battles Arizona at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

The last time NM State defeated Arizona came on March 25, 1998, in a 4-3 affair in Tucson when the Wildcats were ranked No. 31 in the country.

UA is 3-1 on the year heading into this Saturday's contest with wins over UC Riverside (6-1), Grand Canyon (5-2) and UNC Wilmington (4-1). Its lone loss on the year came against third-ranked Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss.

NM State is paced by
Louis Menard, the reigning Western Athletic Conference Singles Player of the Week, with a 4-0 mark in dual action and 13-4 mark overall in singles. Teammates
Enrique Asmar,
Stijn de Haan and freshman
Martin Simecek all sit with nine wins apiece overall.

In doubles action, the Aggie tandem of Menard and Asmar are 10-3 on the season while de Haan and
Mauri Benitez check in with a 9-3 overall record.

The Aggies will get a couple weeks off to rest and train before heading to Corpus Christi for the H-E-B Tournament of Champions (Feb. 22-23).
