@NMStateMGolf Seeks WAC Championship

Aggies travel to Lakewood, Wash., as they look to claim their ninth WAC Championship.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's golf team heads to Lakewood, Wash., for the Western Athletic Conference Championship April 27-29 at Oakbrook Golf Club. The Aggies have won eight WAC Championships since joining the conference in 2006.
 
The League's head coaches picked NM State to finish fourth in the pre-championship coaches poll, as it received 32 points. Defending champion Kansas City was picked to repeat with seven first-place votes while Grand Canyon was picked to place second as they received the final first-place vote.
 
The starting lineup for the Aggies is set to consist of Tadhg Campbell, Ryo Harada, Mike McGilton, Niall Powell and Garrison Smith. McGilton, a senior, leads the Aggies in stroke average at 72.3 over 32 rounds this season which also ranks sixth in the conference.
 
Play at the WAC championship begins on Saturday, April 27, and continues through Monday, April 29, at Oakbrook Golf Club which is a 6,014-yard, par-71 layout. Fans can follow along with all the action thanks to live scoring from GolfStat.
