NM State Baseball Sets School Record

The Aggies set the record for the largest opening weekend in recorded history

Las Cruces, N.M. - In the opening weekend of the 2024 season the NM State Aggies set the record for the largest opening weekend in NM State Baseball recorded history. The record was previously held by the 2020 NM State Aggies who faced Texas Southern in their weekend opener.

Over 3,000 Aggie fans made it out to the 'Skew in the opening series against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The highest attendance came on opening night as the Aggies welcomed over 1,000 fans with a win.

This success that the Aggies had in the opening series most likely came from the excitement of welcoming first year head coach, Jake Angier and his brand-new coaching staff.

The Aggies have their second home series this weekend, Fri. 1- Mon. 2, against Northern Colorado in a four-game series. Angier and the Aggies have 22 games left at home in the 2024 season.
