LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Taking advantage of its few matches at home this season, the New Mexico State men's tennis team flex its muscles on Sunday at the NM State Tennis Center with a 7-0 sweep of Mesa Community College in its home-opener.

Christofer Goncalves and
Luis Flores continued their dominant play at the top doubles slot Sunday, besting their counterparts from Mesa CC 6-2.
Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez followed suit with a 6-3 victory on court No. 2 to capture the doubles point before
Enrique Asmar and
Louis Menard secured the sweep on court three, 6-4.

Asmar was sharp and direct against his foe at singles No. 4, easily winning 6-1, 6-1 before Menard gave NM State the 3-0 advantage with a 6-0, 6-3 win on court No. 6.
Sergi Espias sealed the win for the Aggies short thereafter at No. 2 singles when he defeated Lucas Severo 6-1, 6-1.

NM State went on to claim victories on court No. 1, No. 5 and No. 3 as it came away with the clean sweep at home.

New Mexico State will get a couple days before it heads to Sin City for four matches against Weber State, LMU, UNLV and UC Riverside beginning on Friday, Feb. 2, and ending on Saturday, Feb. 3.
