CHICAGO – The New Mexico State men's tennis team fell 4-1 to DePaul Sunday afternoon at Lakeshore Sports & Fitness to wrap up its weekend in the Windy City.

The Blue Demons took an early edge in doubles with a 6-0 win on court No. 3 before NM State's No. 2 duo of
Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez took down their counterparts 6-2. DePaul's top doubles team narrowly edged
Christofer Goncalves and
Luis Flores 6-4 for the doubles point not too long after.

The Aggies (13-9, 4-1 WAC) went down 2-0 in singles action when
Enrique Asmar was taken down 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 4 slot. DePaul (14-9, 2-1 Big East) pushed its lead to 3-0 on NM State after
Sergi Espias was defeated 7-5, 7-6 (3-1). NM State captured its lone point on court No. 2 thanks to de Haan's comeback 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 win over Alex Galousstian.

New Mexico State now returns for its final home match of the season as it honors Goncalves and Espias on senior day when the Aggies play host to Western New Mexico on Wednesday, April 18, at 1 p.m. (MT) before taking off for Western Athletic Conference Tournament (April 27-29) at the Mesa Tennis Club.
