LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team will play host to Western New Mexico at 1 p.m. (MT) this Wednesday, April 18, at the NM State Tennis Center as it honors a pair of seniors in Christofer Goncalves and Sergi Espias.

Heading into the match, WNMU is 3-16 on the year and 0-3 in conference play. The Mustangs are also nursing an 11-match losing streak to go with their 0-7 mark when playing on the road.

In doubles play, the tandem of Niko Barr and Grabovic are 8-10 overall – splitting their wins on courts No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of Fraboulet and David Valles have four wins – primarily at the No. 2 doubles slot. Fraboulet and Gnilozubov have also teamed up for four doubles wins at the No. 1 position for the Mustangs.

For the Aggies, Goncalves paces the team with a 24-7 overall mark in singles action. Fellow senior Espias is right on his tails with a 22-9 overall record. Mauri Benitez isn't far off with 21 wins while Enrique Asmar has 20 wins of his own. Freshman Louis Menard isn't far off from the 20-win plateau himself, posting 19 wins in singles action on the year while also riding an 11-match win-streak.

In doubles play, the duo of Benitez and Stijn de Haan reached the 20-win mark last weekend and currently 20-9 overall with a 13-4 record in dual action. Goncalves and Luis Flores are second on the team with a 15-9 record together in doubles action. Last, but not least, is the duo of Asmar and Menard – who are 10-4 together.

In his four years at NM State, Goncalves has accumulated a singles record of 83-33 and an impressive mark of 19-1 in Western Athletic Conference play. Espias, who transferred to NM State last season, has recorded back-to-back 20-win season in singles play for an overall mark of 46-16 with the Aggies to go with an 8-2 mark in WAC play.

The Aggies will get a week to prepare after Wednesday's match as it heads to the Valley of the Sun for the WAC Tournament (April 27-29) at Mesa Tennis Center.
