LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team is set to kick off its 2018-19 season this weekend at home, playing host to the 2018 Aggie Invitational at the NM State Tennis Center. The three-day tournament includes players from Arizona, Abilene Christian, New Mexico Military institute, Mesa Community College and Western New Mexico.

Each day will begin with doubles action that'll start at 9 a.m. (MT) followed by a main singles draw consisting of 32 players.

Seniors
Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez will once again pair up and get to scout the competition with a bye in the opening round. The Aggie pair will play the winner between Arizona's Conner Olsen and Jared Horwood and Abilene Christian's Akinora Wada and Joaquin Delgado on Saturday. Meanwhile,
Alejandro Rosas Garcia and transfer
Nicolas Buitrago will pair up against MCC's Maxim Kirsh and Lucas Severo on Friday.

At the bottom of the doubles bracket will see
Luis Flores team up with freshman
Martin Simecek in a match against MCC's Jorge Sala and Davis. Wrapping up doubles play for the Aggies will be
Enrique Asmar and
Louis Menard, who will face Mesa Community College's Erik Dallmann and Ali Moin.

At the top of the 32-player singles bracket lies de Haan, who will battle New Mexico Military Institute's Ned Merrion. Asmar is on the same side of the bracket and set to take on MCC's Yohaan Prinsen. In the bottom-half of that top bracket, Simecek and Kirsh will meet on the court while Buitrago faces Abilene Christian's Michael Benavides.

In the bottom of the 32-player singles bracket sees Rosas Garcia facing off against Delgado from ACU while Flores takes on WNMU's Niko Barr.
Yusuke Nishitani will have his hands full as he takes on Western New Mexico's top singles player in Liam Fraboulet while Menard squares off against Juri Jacob Salzano from MCC. Benitez rounds out the singles bracket for NM State when he takes the court against ACU's Jackson Fine.
