LAS CRUCES, N.M. – It will be an all-Aggie finals on Sunday in singles play after another successful day for the New Mexico State men's tennis team on Saturday at the NM State Tennis Center.

Doubles action continued to be a shining light for NM State on Saturday with all three pairs advancing to the quarterfinals.

Mauri Benitez cruised in their match to the tune of 6-1 while
Luis Flores and
Martin Simecek prevailed 6-3 over New Mexico Military Institute's Chris Bulas and Emanuel Mallya.
Louis Menard and
Enrique Asmar rounded things out for the Aggies with a 6-3 win over Western New Mexico's pair of Liam Fraboulet and David Valles.

On the consolation side, the duo of
Nicolas Buitrago and
Alejandro Rosas Garcia moved on with a 6-1 win over NMMI's pair.

A battle of the Aggies in the semifinals was spoiled when de Haan defeated walked away with a 7-5, 2-1 (ret.) win over Asmar and Simecek falling to NMMI's Bulus in a thriller 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. The bottom-half of the main draw also saw the same result with Menard beating out fellow teammate Flores 6-4, 6-2 and Benitez falling to Mesa's Kyryll Kryvchun 6-4, 6-4.

In the semifinals, de Haan bested Bulus 6-3, 6-4 and advanced to the finals for the second-straight year. Meanwhile, Menard took down Kryvchun in a three-set thriller 7-6, 0-6, 6-3 – setting up an all-Aggie final on Sunday.

On the consolation side of singles play,
Yusuke Nishitani battled back down a set against Abilene Christian's Joaquin Delgado for the 5-7, 6-1, 10-3 win and spot in the consolation semifinals. He then went on to win 6-4, 6-1 against NMMI's Luis Zamorano and will take on Mesa Community College's Maxim Kirsch in the consolation final.

In the singles back draw,
Sebastian Herrera – who was recently cleared to play for NM State, subbed in for Mesa Community College's Yuri Jacob and took down WNMU's Niko Barr 6-4, 6-2. However, Barr advances in the back draw since he had won by default when Jacob bowed out.

The final day of the tournament will once again start with doubles action at 9 a.m. (MT) followed by singles.
