TUCSON, Ariz. – The New Mexico State men's tennis team wrapped up the second day of the Wildcat Invitational with
Enrique Asmar advancing into the singles finals of his flight as well as the doubles flight with teammate
Louis Menard. In addition, Menard also moved onto to the consolation final in the main singles draw.

Doubles action started off with Menard and Asmar taking down NAU's doubles tandem before beating out teammates
Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez 6-3 for a spot in the Wilber doubles final. The duo of de Haan and Benitez first bit GCU's pair before falling in the quarterfinals to fellow Aggies. In the Wilma doubles flight, NM State saw both of its teams defeated in the second round.

Menard started singles action with a tough first set, but eventually won 7-6 (4), 6-0. The Annecy, France, product then fended off UNM's Karlo Divkovic for the 7-6, 7-6 win in the semifinals of the consolation side. In the back draw, of the Australian Open flight, de Haan beat out BYU's Matteo Veraeu 6-2, 6-3 – who was the draw's top-seeded player.

Asmar advanced to the singles championship match in the French Open singles draw after beating out Grand Canyon's Lucas Grego in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 – who was also the top-seeded player in that flight. In the back draw of that flight, freshman
Martin Simecek picked up a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 win against Northern Arizona's Facundo Tumosa.

The Wimbledon single draw
Nicolas Buitrago fell lost a though match to GCU's Jakub Novak 6-4, 7-6 (4) and bowed out in the semifinals.
Alejandro Rosas Garcia dropped his quarterfinal match-up against Boise State's Ryland McDermott in a suspended match from Friday 6-3, 6-4 as well.

In the back draw of the Wimbledon flight,
Luis Flores finished with a 6-3, 6-3 victory versus Arizona's Eric DeRamos 6-3, 6-3 while
Yusuke Nishitani won his match via default (injury).

Sebastian Herrera was able to claim the first set against San Diego State's Nick Mitchell but wasn't able to hold him off before falling 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. However, Herrera was able to bounce back in his next match, taking down Arizona's Peter Hariri 6-2, 6-0.

The doubles championship match is schedule to begin at 9 a.m. (MT) while certain singles matches from different flights set to begin every half hour after that.
