TUCSON, Ariz. – After a very late night and long day of tennis Friday, one match was left suspended and scheduled to finish Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational with the New Mexico State men's tennis team continuing its hot-streak on the courts.

Doubles action started with Martin Simicek and
Luis Flores battling for the 7-6 (5) victory over San Diego State's Kirchoff and Rafa Almazan in the Wilber doubles draw.
Louis Menard and
Enrique Asmar eased past their foes from Mesa Community College with a 6-2 victory while
Stijn de Haan and
Mauri Benitez took down BYU's Vereau and Pearce 6-4 in a back-and-forth match. Last, but not least, is the Aggie duo of Sebastian Herrera and
Yusuke Nishitani – who took down their counterparts from Grand Canyon to make it a clean sweep for the Aggies on the first day in doubles play.

In the Australian Open singles draw, de Haan fended off a fiery Araud Restifo from San Diego State for the 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory before having to retire in his quarterfinal match to MCC's Kyryll Kryvchun despite winning the first set 7-6 (2). At the bottom of the same bracket, Menard was bested by GCU's Mathieu Rajaonah 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 after taking an early one set lead. However, the sophomore bounced back in the consolation bracket – winning 7-6 (4), 6-0 against Northern Arizona Tom Fisher.

Asmar had a great Friday in Tucson, first taking down NAU's Ron Izdon 6-3, 6-3 followed by a 7-5, 6-3 victory over SDSU's Almazan to catapult him into the quarterfinals of the French Open singles draw. Simicek dropped his first set, but was able to rally and grind out the 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 win over BYU's Vinicius Nogueria. Despite an exhausting match before, Simicek fought valiantly before falling to GCU's Justin Cvitanovic 6-2, 6-7, 7-6.

Nicolas Buitrago cruised in the Wimbledon singles draw, first ousting Boise State's Simon Stenlund in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 before moving onto the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-0 win over NAU's Tripp Dillon.
Alejandro Rosas Garcia started his day off with a 6-3, 6-4 defeat of Arizona's Jared Horwood. However, his second round match against Ryland McDermott from BSU was suspended last night due to a curfew.

In the US Open singles draw, Herrera eked by GCU's Nico Macedo in the opening round with a hard-fought 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win and will face SDSU's Nick Mitchell Saturday.
