LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The NM State men's tennis team fell short on Friday against UNLV, 6-1, at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV.

The Aggies got their lone point of the match at No. 6 singles from freshman
Enrique Asmar. The Barranquilla, Cololbia, native had to earn his win though as UNLV's Charlie Croxford took the second set 6-4 to force a tiebreaker, which the freshman won 13-11.

In the opening matches of doubles play, host UNLV took a 1-0 after winning on courts No. 1 and No. 2 by a 6-1 margin.

Nicholas Springer dropped his match first dual match ever, falling in straight-sets. Senior
Strahinja Trecakov fell soon after at the No. 1 position, 6-0, 6-3. UNLV clinched the match on court No. 2 when
Christofer Goncalves was downed by Alexandr Cozbinov 6-2, 6-2.

The Aggies also fell on courts No. 4 and No. 5 before Asmar was able to close out his match for NM State's lone point.

NM State will look to notch its first dual win of the 2015-16 season on Saturday at noon (MT) when the Aggies battles UC Riverside out of the Big West Conference in a neutral site match at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
