One of the foundation blocks of the outstanding New Mexico State women's basketball teams of the early 1990s, Connie Vau was a highly sought after player from Cibola High School in Albuquerque, who signed early with the Roadrunners in November 1990.

By the time she completed her career in 1995, Vau etched her name as one of the top point guards in NMSU women's history as she helped lead the squad to a 24-8 record as a senior and the 1995 Big West Conference Championship.

She dished out assists by the hundreds and finished her career with 531 assists, just missing the NM State record by two assists as she ended second on the all-time list. Still, Vau holds the program's best per game assist average of 5.06 per game.

Following her graduation 1996, Vau married husband Jaime Limon and became a math teacher and coach. Today she is the principal of Las Cruces Catholic School and St. Mary's High School.
