Kyle Bradish is widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in NM State baseball history. Over three seasons with the Aggies, Bradish established himself as a dominant force on the mound, earning Freshman All-American honors in 2016 and back-to-back First Team All-WAC selections in 2017 and 2018. He set the program's single-season strikeout record with 140 in 2018 and finished his career with 311 strikeouts which still stands as the second-most in school history. Bradish also ranks fourth in career wins (25), seventh in ERA (3.47) and fourth in starts (46), cementing his place among the program's elite.
Â
Following his junior season, Bradish was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels. The Baltimore Orioles acquired him in December 2019 he quickly rose through the ranks. Prior to his MLB debut, he dominated Triple-A with the Norfolk Tides, earning International League Pitcher of the Week honors on April 17, 2022—just 11 days before getting the call to the big leagues.
Â
As a rookie in 2022, Bradish made 23 starts for Baltimore, posting a 4-7 record while striking out 111 hitters over 117.2 innings. His 111 strikeouts set a new MLB record for a former NM State player, surpassing the previous mark of 98, and he now leads all Aggies in career innings pitched in the majors with 357.2. Bradish earned his first MLB win on May 10, 2022, when he struck out a season-high 11 batters over seven innings in a 5-3 victory against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Â
Bradish's rise continued in 2023 when he became the first Aggie ever to appear in the MLB Postseason, starting Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Texas Rangers. Today, he remains a key member of the Orioles' starting rotation, carrying forward the legacy of excellence he built at NM State.
Bradish is married to Mollie Bradish and serves as a great representative of Aggie athletics on and off the field.
