Fullback on 1959 Sun Bowl team...Head football coach at Lubbock's Dunbar and Estacado High Schools from 1970-2000...Won 17 district championships, played in four state semifinal games and coached in the state championship game in 1983...Named Lubbock Coach of the Year eight times...Inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor in 1997...Inducted into the Abilene ISD Hall of Honor in 1988...Named the Texas Tech Legendary Coach of the Year in 2001.
